Lately, we’ve been loving Memory Chess at home—and it has quickly become one of those games we keep coming back to. Simple to set up, fun to play, and surprisingly powerful for memory training.

The game includes 6 different colors, with 4 pawns of each color. At the start, all the pawns are placed on the board. You get 5 seconds to look carefully and try to lock their positions into your memory. Then comes the fun twist: the colors are flipped and covered, turning the board into a true memory challenge.

From there, you roll the dice and try to find the pawn that matches the color you rolled. If you get it right, great! If not, the turn passes to the other player. The game continues like this—simple rules, focused attention, and lots of excitement with every roll.

What I really love about Memory Chess is how naturally it supports learning through play. It’s been amazing for supporting my son’s memory skills, helping him focus, observe, and recall—all without feeling like “practice” or “training.” At the same time, I’ve noticed that it challenges me too. A little brain workout never hurts, right? It’s definitely become part of my own brain gymnastics routine.

Memory Chess fits perfectly with our play, connect, repeat mindset:

  • Play through colorful, hands-on fun
  • Connect as we take turns, laugh, and challenge each other
  • Repeat because every round feels a little different—and just as engaging

If you’re looking for a game that’s easy to learn, enjoyable for both kids and adults, and genuinely supportive of cognitive skills, Memory Chess is absolutely worth a spot on your table
